The Austin, TX super-flood of 2015
May. 26th, 2015 12:34 amThe Austin,TX area got a super-flood this weekend, and my house was covered ankle deep in water. Twice! My dogs were not amused at swimming around the floor to get out the door this morning. The flood started, then ended, and then swung around to hit again the next day! It filled the house with water twice! At least a tree did not fall on the roof or anything like that issue. I am lucky compared to the many that died, went missing, or lost their house entirely. This was a really ugly level of natural disaster in the region. Now I know why the Bible used floods so often as acts of God. There is something really primal and scary about escaping a flood as it hits your house. I was already busy trying to move houses; I did not need this problem to pile on top of all the stress.

Rob Lloyd Stress is rarely welcome.
Gods seem to reflect the environment. I’m told that the Indus River Valley gods were fickle, harsh and unpredictable. The Egyptian gods were calm and orderly by comparison. Both areas flooded, but I think the Nile was more cyclical and predictable.

Andrea Menzies Yea, lucky for us much of our household was already on the moving truck by the time the flood hit.
No global warming here…. NOT. Global warming causes extremes at ALL ends of the weather grid. This is epic global warming super-weather.
