I am far too busy with work and school these days to keep up with more than one online journal. I am back to posting at Livejournal at the link, and will no longer be posting here. http://electricnight.livejournal.com/

Warning post of pending end to my Wordpress online blog. My wordpress blog has been fun, but I am going to switch to only keeping a tumblr and livejournal blog. I have been getting complaints that my Wordpress blog has been auto sharing to twitter, and personal phone text messages of friends without permission. I turned sharing OFF many times, yet STILL it shares! I started the Wordpress blog when I was sick in the hospital with stomach surgeries for genetic birth defects. I was trying to sell short stories, art, and key chains to help with medical expenses. The fun of friend on the Internet was a lifesaver back when I was sick, but that is right when it is hard to control settings on all my Internet sharing. To keep this blog from oversharing some more, I am going to have to delete it. My blogs will continue at Livejournal where oversharing is NOT an option. http://electricnight.livejournal.com/

I am going to be starting classes again on Thursday. I miss classes and learning at Tyler college even when it IS a summer holiday. When your a little kid you can’t wait for a three day weekend, Winter Break, or summer time. However, when you get older you can’t wait to have the privilege of learning and advancing your career. Funny how the punishments of youth become the treats of adulthood. Saying “go to bed early”, “you get extra vegetables”, and “you have to go to three more classes” seems like a joy as you get older as it all made you sad as a kid.

In a culture that puts a dollar value on everything, it is important to remember some of the best jobs don't pay at all. And happy mother's day to all you Mr. Moms too, I respect your work as well. As a single mom I have had to be both mom and dad to my daughter. Which is extra hard because my mother's father died in WWII when she was a kid, and my father was killed in the Army due to war too, so I have had very few examples to go on for parents. It is that much more amazing that my daughter is in honors classes, and made all A and B grades this year in school.

Thanks for the friends and family who have helped my life take a full turn for the better. I passed all my college tests with A grades. At long last I can sleep more than 2 hours a night.

Andrea E. Menzies If Daniel Myer were playing in downtown LA, New York, or Austin, TX I would be worried it would be a sold out show. But not here in Richmond land. It was like 30 people tops. In Texas when Assemblage 23 played the fire marshal had to kick people out because the overbooked the show so badly people could not breath.

After I passed the in depth anti-drug and germ tests to blood donate, I will donate blood for 2 months in March and April in Richmond, VA. I just donated last Friday. No I don't show the pictures of this to point out my "veins look all cutie" like one guy on my Facebook once commented. I show the photos because I want to show in a passive way they tested me for ALL the drugs you can get high off of, and I was NOT on any of them. If I have a friend who jokes about that too much with me, I get a bit antsy and want to do something that leaves a paper trail as it proves them wrong.

Having that "I just lost 15 pounds in three months" kind of a day with good photos. Woot!

I got sick for a while and could NOT work out. Glad that part is over and my workout is now working. The hard part is taking that "before" photo. No one wants photos when they are not looking their best. Yet last time I said I got smaller no one was thinking I had "really" lost the pounds, and so I took a photo this time to show it. I moved to Gold's Gym, used a tight lacing corset 5 days a week (30 dollars Amazon), and got the low fat cookbook for the Alli diet plan ($2 used on Amazon) to do it.

One of the issues with depression like I have, is how many people do NOT think it is as real as something like asthma. Yelling at a person with depression is like blowing air in the face of someone with asthma. At first people are silly with their urge to bully people with depression, but then it gets REALLY mean. I did not make this Internet joke, but I am glad I found it. It was nice to know that OTHER people noticed how bad people with depression are treated by society some days in a "quit your crying" sort of a way. I had to go to a doctor today, and got sick of the long lines. It really sucks living in the ONE western culture that thinks giving people no healthcare money is some fun game. Like the ultra wealthy pointing and laughing at people when they drop dead from things that could have been fixed is some good way for a country to live. And with Trump around it is going to be worse.

Andrea E. Menzies On a related note I have mace and knives I keep for self defense in my purse. Anyone trying to drag me to the Petersburg or Fort Lee area will be sliced in the eye. There are strange stories that I liked living there and dealing with military people. I completely hated it with every ounce of my soul, and I am fully sick of getting email about it at this point.

I wanted to go to more protest this week. A few women's groups at my night school college were getting together for a protest march. Unfortunately, inauguration is outside with rain in January in the Virginia cold. Who made it normal for the inauguration be outside in the coldest month? This is so not the Texas weather I am used to seeing. A famous quote is "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too" the name sake of Virginia's Tyler college. Watching on Netflix the Frida Kahlo movie with Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas this week. The cover talks about her controversial political and sexual reputation in that she was a communist and openly bisexual. Yet museums don't avoid her artwork at all, and Netflix has about 12 full PBS specials on her. Laurel Thatcher Ulrich once said the popular phrase "Well behaved women seldom make history." Kahlo was high on the list of examples to that rule.

I love my new Monday-Wednesday Tyler college night school classes, but getting the books will be hard to do this week. In state residency for college in Virginia was not easy to get this year. Now I have it and am at long last able to go to more classes. In theory school is about a smart brain, hard work, and focus. Sadly in the USA it is often about having money for fees, books, and gas back and fourth from campus.

Christopher Colton Ingersoll Ever since the textbook people sued Kinko’s for making ‘course packets’ it’s been amazing how much money they rake in. The new digital textbooks are even worse; same price but they give you a password that expires after a year so you can’t even keep it
