Is Kindle Fire the new GameBoy?
Have video games saved the book publishing industry? Kindle readers have been a great boon to book sales since their invention. Yet the new Kindle Fire’s inclusion of many popular video games, streaming video, and tablet game app abilities has increased its e-book reader’s sales. Many computer critics have mentioned online that the pocket version of the Kindle Fire actually looks a great deal like an old style GameBoy. Some things have become industry standards on portable electronics. So, ironically video games have increased book sales. Video games have long been insulted as a time bandit to real book reading. Yet the voice reading capacity of the Kindle allows all books to be read out loud as you play video games, as audiobooks. This has been making both activities more popular. In addition the technology of the video game world has increased availability of e-books. A great deal of e-book technology went through its rough draft stage as video game systems. So ironically, video games have in some ways helped save the reading world.
