Texas Relays causes more road closures. I went out one week years ago NOT knowing this was going on... Never again! All the fun places close due to all the vandalism, beatings, and robbery.

I fear so much attention is put on running as a sport. All of your identity goes into moving fast for the tiny part of your life that you can do it. Then it's boom! Blow out a knee and have nothing. A very injury prone sporting enviornment. Yet the fans love it so it keeps packing the stands. The mass media spends millions promoting that world.

Tiger Woods had more the right idea with golf I have to say. A very slow walk with sports bags. You learn that as a kid, and can do it until you are 90.
