Mind Circus Comics Comic Review for Web-comics Wednesday, Super-comic Saturday, and Mega-comic Monday Reviews

Welcome to the Reviews! Review blogs are incredibly popular, and comics are a near infinite source free illustrated fiction books to review. Each comic we review is the winner of the “FH7 Web-comic Weekly Winner Award”, and the author can feel free to post “Award Winning” on their comic. My Technorati rating this week is 21764 (up from its lowest popularity rating of 40878) at Frozen History Seven Publishing out of about 3 million entertainment review blogs. It is listed here: technorati.com It is getting to be a big deal in book promotional blogs even if it is still at hobby status.

Reviews: This week’s Mega-Comic Monday Review is the online comic “Mind Circus Comics”. It is also a commentary on the explosion of “The comic as blog” use of blogs. One of the ongoing tasks of my review section is to ask the question “Where do all the web-comics come from, and why do people write them?” It turns out making cartoons as a blog is a good way to write about yourself, without giving too much personal information away. If you write every entry on your blog about yourself and your daily habits, it gives away oceans of information about you to the public. Far too much public, some may argue. Do you really want to tell everyone all over town when you will be out of town on vacation, what doors of your house are typically locked, and a list of your valuables and fears? Writing about your personal life daily, and you may on accident do just that sad to say. Not really a great idea. Yet writing a comic gives you something to write about, and it is without direct personal information. It is what your character says, what it thinks, what it does. It is a bit of a good idea to take the spotlight off of yourself, on many levels, if you like blogging. People love to subscribe to friend networks on online blogs, and this is a good way to promote books and artwork. This includes books with illustrations, such as self published books.

One of the most popular “comic blogs” on Wordpress is Mindcircus Comics by Bruce Thomas. Yet he is far from alone in wanting to post illustrations to Wordpress and other blogs. It provides content and archives in one move. Other examples are popular such as Ghetto Manga at http://ghettomanga.blogspot.com/ and Live Nerd Repeat http://livenerddierepeat.wordpress.com/ but I found the jokes funnier this week on Mindcircus so I reviewed that comic. The Steampunk one is pretty funny, as I have been to many Steampunk shows in the last five years. It is pretty much just like the cartoon The artist is self described here: “Welcome to Mind Circus Comics! My name is Bruce Thomas. One of the few things it lacks is a “regular” update schedule or storyline. Yet the jokes are so funny I forgive that little detail. I say check it out!
