What is at risk now?
By FH7 Productions
free-college-joke-1
It is pretty hard not to notice that massive expense in healthcare and education in America is crippling normal people’s lives. If the United States had even a tiny amount more sympathy for a socialized view of politics quality of life could improve . I myself in the last ten years of my life have been tortured due to lack of healthcare and education funding, and I don’t come from one of the least educated families in the nation. In the United States the words “Communism” “Socialism” have gained dirty word status. Saying them sometimes holds a feel in it’s social norm like shouting the “F” word in a library. However, this has been a recent invention of very wealthy corporate advertising agencies. As college students are feeling the burn of very expensive college classes this week the fight has become more real to my life. The shadow of the Lavender Scare and the legacy of McCarthy Era trials has caused the United States to allow itself to become brain washed against understanding even modest communist or socialist views.
Once Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment benefits, female voting, 40 hour weeks, union employment, and Social Security were all considered forms of “radical communism” by the government. Now they are part of politics as usual. The benefits are under attack by right wing advocates more than ever before this year. What is at risk now? This is from Webster dictionary online definition of Socialism: extensive state regulation, with limited state ownership, has been employed by democratically elected governments (as in Sweden and Denmark) in the belief that it produces a fair distribution of income without impairing “economic growth.”– https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism
The United States would have free healthcare and higher education if it allowed for limited state ownership seen in elected governments like Sweden and Denmark. A percent of people with top income in the United States would have a few less dollars if taxed, people without healthcare suffer death. Arguments that long waits accompany healthcare under socialism do not stand, but are shot down with the reality that without a list to be on death is the only other alternative. Many other countries with a far lower income in comparison to the United States already have socialized medicine and education. “The fact that the US isn’t among the countries with universal healthcare and free college has been a topic of many heated political debates and complaints, especially among the Millennials faced with the prospect of repaying their student loans well into their adulthood. If they have a misfortune of getting hit with a major hospital bill as well, declaring a bankruptcy is often the only solution.” Insidermonkey.com states in it’s blog entry “11 countries with universal healthcare and free college” listing the countries as Sri Lanka, Brazil, Argentina, Luxembourg, Spain, Germany, Greece, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway declaring much of Europe a bastion of Universal Healthcare. I have visited France, Spain, and Germany in my youth. I have noticed people are not starving to death and miserable in the regions. Yet the United States has the widespread public opinion that communist or socialist thought regarding healthcare or education must cause pain and sorrow. When did this start?
On February 9, 1950 the US Senator Joseph McCarthy asserted that he had a list of over 50 communist party spy ring members who had infiltrated the State Department. Wealthy elite corporations gave massive advertising funding to foster mass media obsession with communist witch hunts. Heavy coverage in Television and the newspapers followed this act. The phrase “fag” “fairy” and many other homosexual derogatory terms were heavily recorded in audio of his cross examination of suspected communists. In the groundbreaking novel The Lavender Scare: The Cold War Persecution of Gays and Lesbians in the Federal Government. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2004. By David K. Johnson the depth of the anti-heterosexual oppression clearly represented in the McCarthy hearings is fully explored. McCarthy asserts that gays and bisexuals, fearing exposure for their personal preferences could be blackmailed into revealing national secrets. Therefore everyone even suspected of communism or homosexuality should be purged from all government jobs and blacklisted from most normal work. All people not living a heterosexual love life exclusively for breeding purposes were considered criminal. The corporate funded mass media supported him and this theory. After this point the suicide of Wyoming Senator Lester C. Hunt made the McCarthy’s support and popularity fade. On December 2, 1954, the Senate voted to censure Senator McCarthy by a vote of 67–22, making him one of the few senators ever to be disciplined by censure. Unfortunately the damage was done, and his media frenzied with countless corporate sponsored movies demonizing cartoonish communist supervillians, ironed a negative view of communist and socialist thought into public opinion.
We have The Lavender Scare and McCarthy era to thank for social injustice. Blind prejudice has convinced people to leave their views analyzed. Much like 80 hour work weeks, and lack of Social Security, unfunded healthcare and education allows wealthy corporations to profit. The victimization should not continue.

Andrea E. Menzies At long last I got the much sought after Raichu of Christmas 2016. It feels like you have to walk a million miles with Pikachu as a buddy to make him Raichu! I know I said I was not going to play anymore, and I deleted it off my phone for a long while. Yet the Christmas hats on Raichu made me want to play again for a time.

"Lestat nearly dies after becoming human again—his new body is wracked by pneumonia, which he ignores during a tour of Washington D.C. in the middle of winter. He is saved by the care of a nun named Gretchen. He enjoys a short love affair with Gretchen before she returns to South America, where she works in a convent, and Lestat sets out in search of his body. Lestat seeks help from other vampires but is completely ostracized by them. Marius is extremely angry at him for leaving such a powerful body to a thief and refuses to help him. Likewise Louis turns him away when he asks Louis to make his new body into a vampire, arguing that Lestat ought to be happy to be human again and also calls him out on his previous writings, accusing him of altering his actual past in favor of one that portrays him heroically. Lestat's only ally is David Talbot." - Wikipedia entry on Anne Rice's book Tale of the Body Thief.

One good thing about Richmond, VA is that it is very close to Washington DC. I have been constantly going there lately, and can see why it is a place loved by writers.

More on my Birthday 2016

https://fh7productions.wordpress.com/2016/10/09/more-on-birthday-2016/

Sushi King, made me a cake!
I am super busy this year, so I can only do a quick top 20 favorite Happy Birthday Well Wishes blog post out of the hundreds of Happy Birthday well wishes I got online! It is my tradition for many years to press cut and paste on Facebook for a few seconds to make a more long lasting copy of the birthday wishes on my Facebook. When you are having a strange year it can be a good pick me up. However this year I am super busy with classes I am taking in a night school and refreshers I am taking in college in the evenings, and I am busy with morning job skills classes as well. So for 2016 I make my quick top 20 re-post. It may seem silly now, but some day when one of you is famous and dead it may earn me a place in history books.

No Order Payments

I was trying to sell make-up and no one payed me the money! Many people pay lip service to trying to help you get a weekend home based business off the ground selling crafts, freelance work, or make-up. They say they will order half of your full catalog, and hand you a page covered in orders. Then after you order it all with out of pocket cash very few or none will pay! I am having one of THOSE months at this point. It can be a money pit some days to try and make MORE money. Next time I will get the cash up front.

Get your make-up updates just in time for the Halloween eve by calling me, or on my Avon Representative page here: https://aemenzies.avonrepresentative.com anything bought with the “You are shopping with Andrea” logo in the upper left corner will credit my account, and will ship right from the warehouse to your house. I recommend the Mega Mascara (see photo) I just bought it works great with cat eye liquid liner. Also, they have PLENTY of black nail polish.

The new Pokemon Go Update.
It is official, I love Pokemon Go again, and my review is now positive for the game. Now that you can play Pokemon Go offline with BlueStacks it is a far more fun game. Yes, it is always fun to use it on your phone if you are bored waiting in line somewhere. Yet videogames are largely a good way to relax when you are sleepy at home. When I am going somewhere downtown or to the gym I am BUSY, and rarely have time to log into a complicated app. All of the stops in the game are largely history markers, and so playing it at home becomes an educational game for the history of your area if you press the black arrow next to the stop name. You have more time to read these history texts if you are at home. Another advantage of home play is people are not falling off the road as they look at their screen, and not wrecking cars to play, or wasting gas zig zagging around town to hit stops. Which I think is the nature of the beast in turning it into an offline game; Pokemon opened a Pandora’s box of way too many lawsuits and robberies. Kids are skipping summer school to play Pokemon Go, and school is starting up again. Also, Pokemon Go tempts people to go outside at peak mosquito times as Zika becomes a hassle. Thank you for applauding movement. However, there are many REASONS people play video games inside in modern day.

I got dumped today. He is the one who asked ME out, and yet feels the need to reject. When a girl is single people often assume SHE is the one being too picky, and yet it is often the men being too judgmental to the female that is the issue. He never talks to me, never comments on any of my Facebook posts, and posts a new photo of him hugging a girl I don’t know as his profile picture on Facebook weekly. Next he thinks HE has the reason to get upset. Why is all of Richmond populated with jerk men?

The Aesthetic Perfection band tour is the best show I have seen in years! It had great energy. If you are anywhere near the bands Aesthetic Perfection, Venal Flesh, or Little Black Rain Clouds check out their shows. It is worth the wait in line.

I ran into many great friends, and I have not danced so much in years at the concert. Right when I don't like going out in Richmond, they change things up and get great acts in town. Then going out is great again. Richmond is a far smaller town than when I lived in New Orleans, Austin, Portland, or Seattle. So I have been going into a bit of culture shock dealing with the smaller music scene. No long line for the bathroom, how dare a concert venue have no long lines? Yet the smaller towns can often have a closer knit and friendly social world, and so it can be a good trade off.
Venal Flesh did covers from the Imperative Reaction show I saw in Seattle at El Corazon in 2006. I had just been checking out their out Imperative Reaction’s newest stuff on Amazon.com music downloads, and so the coincidence was a happy one. The new stuff by both Aesthetic Perfection and Venal Flesh is now high on my download list.

A thing I hate about games, is the "Super Gamer" fans who try to make other players feel bad. It's a KIDS game guys!

Andrea E. Menzies If you love flickers on a game screen and high scores too much, it shows you will never get action on a date from a real girl EVER. In 5 years another game will be popular, and no one will know or care about your high scores. True story.

I donated blood all this month, negative blood types are getting 50 bucks a pop due to a blood shortage in Richmond. There is a dangerous lack of negative blood in Richmond. If you have a negative blood type, donate! After my latest yearly trip to Planned Parenthood showed my blood as clean in testing, I decided to be a donor again a little while ago. The lab workers may poke you, prod you, drug test you, and ask you a million weird questions, however donating blood and plasma does save the lives of people who need it badly.

Funny Facebook Moment of the Week:
Pokemon made me fix my bike this week. Some stops are too big for a walk, too small for a drive in the game. Bikes have always been a big part of the game. It has the Team Rocket song stuck in my head. In addition, it has persuaded me to play Ingress, due to the high game cross over factor. Heck, I even downloaded Field Trip, the app that was the grandfather to both the Ingress and Pokemon Go games. Summer is a time when new hobbies are needed to keep people busy, and this is a very busy hobby indeed. I can’t figure out how some people have level 17 Pokemon already. Do these people never sleep? Do they live with a Pokemon gym IN their apartment building? Do they work on top of a Pokemon portal? Some people have all three on their side, and so the game is rather unequal in power potential.

Here is my review of the fireworks in DC for the 4th of July. The fireworks were beautiful and long lasting. The area is filled with special food, 1776 actors dressed in costume, and free music events. Yet be careful to expect a crazed police state in DC if you go. I went to Washington DC to see the fireworks this year with Anne and Alexandria. However the blisters on my feet have their own baby blisters at this point. Plus I put on SPF 100 sunscreen, and STILL got purple sunburn. Pale Freckled Goth Girl problems with going out on July 4th.

It is a big deal in the United States to see fireworks on the 4th in DC because the 4th of July 1776 is when the Declaration of Independence was signed in DC, and the Declaration of Independence is stored at the National Archives in DC. So it is the focus of the source of the holiday. At the Smithsonian National Museum of American History Washington DC we ate Flag Cakes with USA flags for the holiday. My most loved part was the Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space had real space capsules to climb on. Also they had an authentic model of the real Startrek Enterprise used in the original Startrek TV show. It had newly been renovated and put on display which I was very happy about seeing it. At one point many of the science objects we love today were all once science fiction in the imagination of a dreaming inventor.

My most hated part was when they had airport style security gates surrounding every 50 feet of downtown DC due to terrorist threats. I understand sometimes we need extra security, but it was by FAR overkill on the need for security with what they had going on. They not only checked people, but re-checked them in nightmarish ways. For every person who was checking bags, eight were sitting around watching them with nothing to do. Military men in full cold weather uniform dress were loaded with guns watching every person. As there was 90 degree heat occurring that day soldiers were very irritable as they screened the public. By the 19th security station I had to go to on the way to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History a stoner guy with dreadlocks who was an African American who was clearly stoned was put in charge by the soldiers to check bags. He randomly took expensive camera supplies out of my bag, and put them in his personal pockets. Then he took a bottle opener keychain out of my bag and said “You are not allowed to have sharped objects” and pocketed that into his personal pockets as well. I was so angry that if I had possessed a gun I would have shot his very stoned face. Every purse or wallet contains keys which are shiny and sharp, and so it is now illegal to have keys?

When they create busywork to employ people with searches, pretty soon very bored workers are going to MAKE problems to say people have. Shortly afterward tiny shampoo items and nail clippers are called deadly weapons by bored security workers. It was nightmarish and horrible. This celebration of American “freedom” was sadly demonstrating that our freedoms are being destroyed by a police state mentality. If you try to go to the events, be warned that Big Brother will be watching you.
